This set of oblique exercises is no joke! They are one of my favorite exercises and they work every time! If you are on a Cadillac, get into the side-lying position shown in the picture to the left. If you are on a mat, try to find a place where you can press your feet against the wall and get into the same position, except the arm that is holding the bar in the picture will be on the mat in front of you. Then begin to lift your torso up and down repeatedly. You may need to use your lower hand to push yourself up off of the mat for extra support. The key is to keep your hips stacked and spine long. Really try to engage your abdominals by flexing them, and think about your belly button pulling into your spine. If you feel any unusual pain in your back, take a rest, re-engage and try again, unless the pain persists. Start with a small number of lifts on each side and increase as you get stronger. Try to do these exercises at least a few times a week and you'll be seeing that longer and leaner waistline in no time! Strong summer body, here you come! ;)
